Not Your Boyfriend’s Jeans

{Wearing: Bomber jacket, boyfriend jeans, and boots (all gifts from Aeropostale) thrifted button-down and faux-fur vest (similar here) and last 3 pictures featuring my friend Alejandra}

“Doubt is part of the creative process.”

Have you ever had a really hard time picking out what to wear? You probably have, because every once in a while everyone has those days when nothing seems to look right and you can’t decide what to wear.Β As I’ve previously mentioned, I’ve been a little…obsessed…with style books and magazines lately. I’ve always liked them, but recently I’ve been consulting them daily like they’re my best friend or something. I probably have a problem πŸ™‚

Ever since I realized that I wanted to be a fashion journalist, it’s like I completely read the magazines differently, looking for things I would change if I had my own magazine, or at least any say. I’ve decided if I had my own fashion magazine, I would include a lot of street style photos, interesting editorials, and gripping articles about things the readers actually care about. Lots of magazines accomplish this, (my all-time favorite is Teen Vogue) but I would love to put my own spin on a magazine. So my newest dream/goal: start my own style magazine. Although I guess you could say I did the baby step to that in creating this blog, two and a half years ago. What is your dream goal?

Anyways, about the outfit, I have wanted a cute black quilted jacket for so long, and when Aeropostale let me pick out some of their items from their winter collection, I definitely couldn’t pass up this one! It’s really warm and adds a cool touch to this outfit! The boyfriend jeans, faux-fur vest, classic white shirt and boots make a very classic look, and the jacket completes it with the perfect amount of edge. Think classy meets sassy. Hiker meets biker.

I also kind of fell in love with these boots. They worked great for these outdoorsy pictures, but will also be so nice once it starts snowing (which is supposed to be tonight!!) Hunter Green is the new black. Actually, I have no idea, but it’s my current favorite color, so we’ll go with it.

Love, Francesca

    My week never ends without having a day -or more than I thought- that I find it hard to pick what to wear especially that I go to a fashion school and our fashion style is as important as our education. But mostly I end up with jeans and boots or shorts and boots because I just like boots like those you were wearing πŸ™‚ Good luck pursuing your dream as a fashion journalist. I’m sure you’ll be a great one someday πŸ™‚

    PS: when I launch my brand next year I hope I could send some pieces to you πŸ™‚

    you know, I love your blog and the way you write so I would definitely read your magazine too (send me one if you have it. deal? ;). and even though I’m certainly not a teen I still love Teen Vogue. it’s pretty much the only fashion magazine I read because it’s easy and small and fits in my bag πŸ˜› (and doesn’t have those long and boring articles…).
    anyway, I also love those photos and the cool backdrops. great job! and your outfit looks so comfy and warm. just perfect πŸ™‚ plus I really like your boots!
