Cafe + Ice Cream Date

These photos are from a little cafe date my sister Lexie and I went on the other weekend. We went to The Shirt Factory Cafe which is one of my favorite cafes by my house, and Lake Effect ice cream which is an artisan ice cream shop that has the most delicious ice cream in the world. I don’t know if that’s verified but I’m pretty sure that’s true. We had a really nice time and it was good to catch up since we’ve both been busy with college lately!

I drank a match green tea smoothie which was amazing, and Lexie had some kind of hot chocolate. We only had 2 macarons each to eat because she really wanted them and we didn’t want to spend a lot of money but they were pretty good. We also had a little argument about how to pronounce or spell those little cookie things. Macaroons? Macarons? Overpriced and caloric jelly cookies? No but really what are they?

Regardless of how they are pronounced, I’m a fan.

I have a rather large obsession with earl grey. I get an earl grey vanilla latte every morning at college and I absolutely love this earl grey ice cream! It is so delicious I could eat it all the time. Lexie had the Paula’s Doughnut flavor which is doughnut flavored ice cream with pieces of gourmet doughnuts inside (insert 10 heart-eye emojis).

I hope you had a nice Halloween and are having a nice Autumn! I am way too ready for Christmas, I have to stop myself from putting Christmas music on repeat and playing all Christmas films until at least Thanksgiving, but it will be hard!

Love, Francesca

I’m so ready for Christmas omg!! It’s so nice that you went on a little coffee date with your sister 😀 I’m hoping to go check out a new coffee shop in town with my friend sometime soon, although it’s hard to find any time to spare these next few weeks with the end of term coming up! // I love anything matcha 😀 // Those are macarons!! Macaroons are more cookie-like. For some reason I think of macarons more as a French confection and macaroons more like American confections. I don’t know if there’s any truth to that 😛 But the thing you ate is a macaron for sure 😛 // yumm, all these tea flavoured things! I stopped by a South African cafe over the summer and tried a rooibos latte for the first time and it was sooo good! It’s a “coffee” but made with tea haha. -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

I love the vibe of your neighbourhood. I don’t know the right words to describe it but yeah, I really love it. those eateries look so cosy and cute and the stuff you ladies had seems to be delicious. those ice creams look insane by the way. they’re huge! you should see the ice cream you get from here. it’s like 1/3 of what you guys had! anyway, I really enjoyed the post and its super sweet vibe!

What a lovely day! I’m a sucker for any type of green smoothie, and green tea sounds perfect. I also have always wondered how to say macaroons, especially since I know there’s a completely different coconut pastry that’s spelled almost exactly the same. Overpriced is right haha, but I can never resist–they’re too cute.

I’m so happy you had the chance to spend time with your sister! It’s so comforting to see family during the busy semester.

Wishing you a week full of love and joy! Happy early Thanksgiving 🙂
